Welcome
My name is Alex Swan, and I am in the Master's Degree program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. I began the program Summer 2020 and will graduate Spring 2022. I have two undergraduate degrees. I graduated in 1998 with a BFA in Painting from Georgia Southern University and I graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in art education. Immediately after graduation from KSU, I began teaching middle school.
I currently teach pre-Engineering and Technology to 6th-8th grade students at McClure Middle School in Cobb County. KSU's reputation in instructional technology led me to the Master's Degree program in the Department of Instructional Technology. My ultimate goal is to use the knowledge I acquire in the Instructional Technology program, combined with my pre-existing knowledge, to assist school districts with Instructional Technology, and perhaps to develop my own web-based instructional technology for teaching and learning. The purpose of this portfolio is for me to demonstrate mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology standards and the ISTE Coaching standards. As you can see, there are a series of links above that you can visit. Of particular importance is the "standards" link. Under this link, you will see a series of artifacts and reflections documenting my work I have completed during this program. Each artifact represents mastery of the standard under which it is represented. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Kennesaw State University, and I am well-prepared to integrate technology into my classroom and to assist other educators in using technology and providing professional learning opportunities for them. |
